Finnish Petroleum Federation: E10 petrol had 58 percent share in 2013

In 2013 58 percent of all gasoline sold in Finland was 95 E10 petrol, according to statistics of the Finnish Petroleum Federation. In 2012 E10 petrol had a 55 percent share, and in 2011 the share was 48 percent. E10 petrol was introduced in Finland at the beginning of 2011.

About two billion litres of motor gasoline was sold in 2013, just under two percent less than in the previous year. Consumption of gasoline has long been declining, with technological developments boosting energy efficiency and reducing the fuel consumption of cars, while car taxation favours vehicles with low fuel consumption.

Combined total sales of oil products in Finland was just under eight million tonnes in 2013. The amount was more than one percent less than in 2012. In addition to liquid fuels, the figure includes bitumens and lubricants, as well as raw materials for the petrochemical industry.
